Dear devotees of Nagamangalam Our Lady of Lourdes, we are indeed delighted to narrate the origins of this Shrine and Miraculous Spring.
Way back on 19th May 2008, Rev. Fr. Joy Oonnukkallel, Rev. Fr. Henri Bonald M.E.P., the Vicar of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Rayakottai, and Mr. Periyanayakam, a traditional Christian from Kelamangalam, gathered in JG farm to discuss about constructing a chapel in the name of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Alphonsa. While they were discussing, one of the workers from this farm dug a pit, when suddenly pure water came gushing out from this pit, which was only a feet and a half deep. Surprisingly enough, a 660 feet deep bore well dug nearby had failed to yield any water.
The priests gathered there had a mystical experience and they shared that, there was something special about this spring. Meanwhile there was another worker who suffered from acute diabetes, so much so, that he was taking two doses of insulin per day. He started drinking this water and continued to do so for almost a month and was cured of his sickness. This was the first miracle done by God with this water, through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes. After this what followed was a chain of miraculous incidents. Many people from far and near were cured of their illnesses:- diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, skin diseases, ulcer, cancer, heart problems, joint pains, chikungunya, arthritis, Cancer, TB, etc. Couples unable to conceive for many years after their marriage were witnessed having children. Many secured jobs, marriage blocks and family problems were resolved through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, Nagamangalam.
Therefore, we invite all of you to experience the blessings of God through our Lady of Lourdes Nagamanagalam, and give thanks to God Almighty for all the blessings and graces showered upon us through this miraculous spring.
